I would like to thank you for providing the tools to help me better communicate. I've been practicing at work all week and, WOW, it really makes a difference. Sometimes I feel like allowing my jaw to drop but I do not. You can see how people can get caught up in the power. It's made me very aware of the power of words. I'm getting my university degree in religion and when people used to ask me what I wanted to do with it and why I would want to study religion, I used to joke and say "I was going to start my own". Buying the coursework Basic Practitioner, Master Practitioner and maybe Trainers Training has been on my To Do list. It was for next year ’06 after I did the board certification course from Omni in ’05, but when I saw your sale, I said Thank You and took it. I like the DVDs. Thank goodness I can use it right away. Plain language! Good job!

My basic course was a combined NLP/hypnosis course but I was so preoccupied with stuff like “Was that deletion? Wait, did the eye go down and left? Is that a feeling or opposite?” I was so in my own head I was useless to my client. So I read NLP books, and it got worse. But that is completely gone now. I am using NLP with every client I see. I also discovered I am using it more than I thought naturally, which is a good thing. I thought I was bad at it! Just didn’t see, hear, feel, or imagine that I do it naturally. Now I do.

I am writing to thank you for your excellent delivery of the NFNLP Practitioner training. NLP is indeed an awesome science. I found your teaching very effective, and I came away with much more than I had bargained for.

Back in the office after my training, I had plenty of opportunities to mirror and match, and I already have one astounding result to share.

My boss is an outstanding engineer and an effective manager, but quite aloof. He is 100% business. He holds himself apart from his staff, by that I mean he doesn’t socialize or make small talk. He is calm and pleasant, and very non-judgmental. He is never critical. His compliments are rare and brief. He is the consummate one-minute manager.

His management style is very effective, and we all strive to perform well for him. We stick to business when he is around, and I believe we are, overall, a very productive, achievement-oriented department.

The day after my NFNLP training, I met with my boss for about 5 minutes. While he debriefed me on the schedule of a critical, delayed project, I tried to mirror and match him as closely as possible. My report was very negative and it was a tense meeting for both of us. Our facility is closing. There are very few people remaining to handle very much work, and the pressure is indescribable. It’s hard to stay on schedule with limited resources, and we feel quite defeated.

He had occasion to call me later. At the end of our conversation he paused, then commented on how I was "holding up under the pressure." This is the first evidence of any empathy in this man and the remark was totally unprecedented. He was actually relating to me.

I have been using the technique for two weeks now. It has helped me relate to my teenage daughter -- it has made her more receptive to me, and I feel more in tune with her as well. I utilized it again this afternoon when negotiating rental of an office space. Very effective.

(About the NFNLP home-study courses..)
I wanted to say that I enjoyed the courses. I have been around NLP for quite a while, and trained with a few different people (including RB) and think that your no-nonsense approach to training is very refreshing. I learned quite a few new things from the basic Practitioner course, and I enjoyed taking part in it (albeit from a distance). I would certainly recommend it to those wanting an introduction to NLP, and especially to Hypnotherapists who want to add NLP to their toolbox. The difference, I suppose, between your training and longer trainings is that there are a number of things that you simplify or allude to that take up quite a bit of time in other trainings. And I did miss the Milton model, which wasn’t really dealt with, although there are references in the manual. A good experience, thanks.

The trainer’s training was also very good. I learned a great deal and enjoyed the sense that I was participating in a class. I really got to know the other delegates, and there are some of them that I really enjoyed watching. I think your approach to training and to the NFNLP in general is very honest and again, no-nonsense, and I learned a great deal. If you were to write it down, then there isn’t a great deal to it, but the important aspects of your training are in giving the right mindset, the right toolbox, and valuable experience in a safe and comfortable environment. Again, a very good experience.

Overall, I really do like your approach to NLP, and I am looking forward to starting the process of training NLP practitioners under the NFNLP banner.

Thanks for writing! :-) Absolutely! I think NFNLP offers the best solution for beginners, because you can go back and watch and re-watch over and over again to get the fullest understanding of the material. Then if you have questions you can send them directly to Dr. Wil and he'll be able to give you some excellent guidance.

I would actually recommend NFNLP's programs over *anything* Bandler teaches, especially for a beginner, for the simple reason that Bandler has become so complacent with what he does that he doesn't take into account the student's needs and no longer cares if "it hurts" or not. He is frequently quoted as saying "1 grab hold of you and you can come willingly or you can skid. But either way, you're coming with me." I don't like that approach and I really didn't like it when he did it to me. NEVER again, I will *never go to a Richard Bandler seminar*, they're painful, expensive, and you don't get to ask questions.

Wil Horton is the BEST if you really want to get a deep-down, dyed-in-the-wool understanding of the material. You can do the course in your own space and time (of course it's up to you to motivate yourself to complete it all) and you have the honor and prestige of being a part of a national professional organization with a reputaton you can trust.

I think you'll really like NFNLP and I know you'll learn a lot more than most of the others out there. But don't just take my word for it, get the training and you'll see for yourself. :-)

There was so much information in the tapes and manuals that I thought I would be overwhelmed. However, because of the way Wil teaches, with numerous live examples and the step-by-step approach to each method and technique, I was able to successfully incorporate several of the NLP techniques Will taught into my hypnosis sessions the very next day.

The results were astounding and I found myself (very surprisingly!) quite confident in using many of the techniques in my hypnosis center. The information that Will teaches is useful in the "real world" and not theory. He also doesn’t fill in his NLP course with "fluff" that could take up a lot of time. Just a note to say thank you so much for all of your help. I have studied all of the information with regard to sports hypnosis the past couple of months and it has just really helped make a difference with my clients and also my bank account.

Recently had a college football player - last year's MVP. He was in a serious car accident in which he had to learn how to do everything all over again. He got everything back, but he just really struggled this season. I have been working with him for the past six weeks and both his parents and coach have just really noticed a wonderful change in him. Since then I am in negotiations with the college coach to help with the football camps that they do. The coach is just really intrigued and have gotten some referrals.

I use the information in the manual and those videos all the time. It was easy to implement right away. It is just awesome. I am convinced that this will really give me a healthy diversion from weight loss clients.

All the money that can be made in the world can't even compare when that player's dad shook my hand with tears in his eyes and said, "Thanks for giving me my son back."

For what it's worth, you remind me of the famous conqueror Hannibal who was quoted as having said "I will find a way or I will make a way!", a frame of mind he apparently embraced as he was attempting to cross the Alps with a caravan of elephants... which he actually succeeded in accomplishing. I mention this in light of the part of our conversation that had to do with some people saying that it's impossible to teach NLP other than in person.

You are truly an inspiration, Dr. Horton. I hope you get a lot of this kind of feedback, because you certainly deserve it on a daily basis.
