"Making Peace with your Past"

By Magaly E. Ferrer

Whenever a person feels uncomfortable about a decision or behavior of the past,

1. I ask them to relax and focus in their breathing,

2. I guide her to an elevator that opens in a floor with a well illuminated hallway that leads to several doors. 3. I ask her to select one of the doors she wish to access her timeline (past)

4. When she enters this room, huge windows can be seen transforming into screens where she can watch the images, time and the place where the event happened.

5. I ask her identify (resources) what made her get: angry, remorse, shame, also identify the time.

6. I request her to exit at the end of the room and watch herself (dissociation) standing in front of the screen and I take note of the sub-modalities she has imprinted in her mind regarding these memories (VAK)

7. I ask her to call that self looking at the movie, to ask the one in the screen to jump out of the movie and ask why he acted the way he did.

8. Once the self in the room has obtained that information from the self in the movie and having understood the situation, the observer invites the self in the room to huge and accept him. In that moment both melt or fuse together in one self and jumps back into the movie with the new emotion he has obtained.

9. In this moment the observer is incorporated again and changes sub-modalities (VAK) adding to him the new emotion including colors, brightness and size.

10. The movie is played back several times at different speeds, until the new emotion is imprinted in past end of her time line.
